Finally come down from the excellent show last Saturday – it was great to see everyone on top form, not sure it was down to my inspirational talk or Ruth’s ticking off, but whatever happen it worked.
I can not thank everyone enough for all their hard work, behind the scenes and on stage in getting the show off the ground, The Chapel for the use of the venue, Godolphin for rehearsal space, my mother for making the shirts, Ruth for stage managing the show and her assistant Cath, Paul on lights, Simon on Guitar and to the creative team of Moody & Taylor and last but by no means least the cast – well done.
We hope to have a together before to long for a well deserved drink – and who knows Jack might be back…..
Watch this space!
Good to see everyone in fine form last night, sorry we could not have a rehearsal with full on sound, but Chapel double booked with a folkse band, which we managed to over come even with out mics.
We have an audience, not great numbers but an audience all the same. See you tonight from 6.30pm for a sound check before 7.15pm.
Yours Truly, Jack The Ripper
What a night!
We where already to go at 7.30pm, cast pumped ready to go – when BOOM!
We won’t be starting until 9.30pm when the delegates have had their banquet, this as you can imagine went down like a lead balloon, I was afraid we were going to have our very own lynching to the sound track of “Mob Rule”.
Thankfully everyone was fantastic about it, and the show went on at 9.30pm.
The delegates loved it, standing ovation at the end, the cast and crew where just the business, Simon and Frogg rocked.
Because we had over ran by a few hours the Chapel on the stroke of 11.00 burst into life, trying to convey sorrow over Mary Jane’s brutal assault to the backing track of some techno music was challenging to say the least – But we all managed to step up and get through it.
Many thanks to our singers, Ali, Caroline, Ray, Sophie, Mark, Natasha, Amanda, David and to Nikki for their performances, Ruth for all she has done managing us, Paul for helping us shine, Simon for his Riffs, and Frogg “what are the white notes for” Moody for his handling of the sound.
We can all have a well deserved rest and catch our breath before we meet up again on Wednesday for a run though and then three more nights at the Chapel bringing “Jack The Ripper” back to the stage.
Jack is Back!
We had a bit of blow this week – our sound engineer has had to pull out due to work commitments…..
Thanks to Ali and Frogg we have managed to cobble some equipment together and in true theatrical tradition the “Show Goes On!”

Great all day rehearsal on Sunday, sorry we didnt get to so all of the songs, we will look to do another all day soon.
I would like to thank our singers for all their hard work over the last couple of weeks and months and to keep up the good work.
We have had some potential cast members not turn up or drop out so we have decided to go for a Rock Concert setup rather than a Musical, so we will have the narrative as normal and the songs of course, but the songs will be done on the lines of a concert, with the lighting it will look amazing in the Chapel.
We are getting close to the opening night and a change this late in the game isnt a bad thing, I know the cast will step up to the challenge.
See you all on Wednesday when I hope to have news of a venue for our Sunday rehearsal.
Keep the faith…
